NELA is a regional forest industry trade association which publishes The
Northern Logger and Timber Processor magazine and devotes a good portion of
its resources on educational endeavors.
Scholarship Program: NELA sponsors a scholarship
competition annually that awards three single-grant scholarships, and is
open to immediate families of Individual Members, or employees and immediate
families of employees of Industrial & Associate Members of the
Association.

Video Lending Library: The association has an outstanding selection of
videos covering topics from safety to forest management to be used for training,
school and community presentations or entertainment available to its members all
over the U.S. for short term loan.

Seminars and Workshops: NELA, taking advantage of partnerships with
other public and private organizations, produces a variety of seminars in
strategic locations in the northeast dealing with safety, productivity,
professionalism and other special interests as they apply to the forest products
industry. Members of the association receive a discount off all workshop prices.

Additions
NELA workshops are accepted for
continuing education credit in logger training programs in CT, MA, ME, NH, NY,
PA, RI & VT as well as for the Society of American Foresters. Please check
with your program administrator or NELA direct for verification on specific
